Social Media Specialist

Compensation: Based on Experience

MCGUINNESS MEDIA & MARKETING is hiring a Social Media Specialist for their Warwick, RI office. We are actively searching for an experienced, strategic, detail-oriented and proactive Social Media Specialist to help build and maintain positive, lasting client relationships based on effectively achieving client’s marketing objectives.

This position is responsible for organizing, facilitating and coordinating all social-related work and processes for client projects as well as internal projects. Daily tasks may include reporting functions and budget maintenance, updating website content and social media content, creating social media schedules, social media tracking and reporting, routing work for review/approval, proofreading creative and/or trafficking artwork to appropriate outlets, writing social content and more. You will be responsible for creating content and managing content schedules and posts for various social media clients. Most importantly, you will work with internal team members and clients to deliver the results in a timely manner. This position reports directly to a Media Supervisor and Account Director.

JOB REQUIREMENTS & DUTIES

• Primarily, this person will oversee Social Media for clients, including content creation, schedules, copy and posts
• Must possess a thorough understanding of client’s attributes, marketing objectives, target audience, competitive environment and market dynamics.
• Partners with the internal creative team to develop/maintain timelines, deadlines and guidelines for all campaigns through our project management system
• Creates, writes, schedules social media posts for clients in a proactive manner and ahead of time
• Builds both paid and organic social campaigns
• Stays on top of industry trends.
• Traffics all media / creative rotations to television and radio vendors monthly
• Conducts financial reconciliations on a monthly basis, request invoices from media partners, reconcile budgets accordingly.
• Ensures the accurate and timely production of media, budgets and estimates for approval as well as the processing of client billing on a monthly basis.
• Maintains agency/vendor relationships through communication and meetings
• Demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrates the ability to prioritize and multi-task to enhance productivity and manage workload.
• Efficiently and effectively interacts with appropriate agency executives and staff.
• Ensures that conference reports, status reports, etc., are accurate, distributed appropriately, and on a timely basis.
• Entrepreneurial minded with the ability to multi-task and handle multiple campaigns at a time
• Attention to Detail – Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.
• Cooperation – Job requires being pleasant with others on the job and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude.
• Candidate must be articulate, honest, have a sense of humor, easygoing, but disciplined and motivated. We need a culture fit!

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising or Journalism preferred
• Minimum (2) to (4) years of relevant experience in account management, advertising and/or marketing role (agency experience a plus!)
• Experience with organic and paid marketing on various social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint required
• Experience with Sprout Social preferred
• Experience with Adobe Design tools preferred (Photoshop, InDesign or Illustrator)
• Should be a proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently. Need strong ability to set priorities, solve problems, and be resourceful under pressure.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills required.
• Ability to multi-task, balance numerous and diverse operations, as well as possess the ability to work well with all levels of employees and management.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills to foster client, vendor, and internal relations
